FANNY YEAGER

Port Stanley, Ontario

About Fanny

What started out as small Arts and Crafts projects in a Community Centre as Art Therapy some 25 years ago turned into a new passion for watercolour painting for Fanny!

Eventually she took professional lessons with the Continuing Education evening program of the Toronto School Board with Brian Hoxha from the Toronto School of Art. Fanny then learned how to mix the colours, create a sense of form by going over the elements of light and shadow and numerous other watercolour techniques for landscapes, still life and classical figure painting.

Soon after retiring to Port Stanley in 2012, Fanny resumed her watercolour lessons with Heather Keating at the St.Thomas Elgin Arts Centre. Over the following few years she also tried her hands at acrylic and mixed media. Later on, she returned to watercolour with Catherine McCoy of Port Stanley.

Since November 2022, Fanny has been a regular student of Maksym Nechytailo at the Art Emporium in Port Stanley, where she continues to hone her watercolour techniques and colour mixing skills, learn aspects of sketching and composition and develop a sense of proportions, emphasizing the focal point.

Fanny participated in the “Between the Boards” juried exhibition at the St.Thomas Elgin Arts Centre from April to June 2025. She is a member of the Association of Port Stanley Artists. Painting cats, wildlife and nature are some of her favourite subjects.
