As a kid, I always loved drawing – girls’ faces, and horses. In Grade 9, art was in the curriculum but I began painting only a couple years ago, and learn so much with each piece. Photography is my passion; I see a painting each time I compose a photo. So I usually paint from my photos to recall that beauty, most often something which is part of nature. My self-challenge now is to abandon all that detail and paint with more freedom. I believe contrast and lively colour makes attractive art… something joyous and cheerful. Of course, there’s also a place for the restful and soothing… so much yet to do!! My hope is that my viewers will enjoy it, and feel a connection to some happy experience in their life when seeing my work.
